Leopard gecko
Valentine
Valentine, the leopard gecko is normally a very sweet gecko. I’ve noticed that sometimes she may get stressed when the event is held outside and may try to run, in that case we will put her back in her container where kids can still pet her. Mostly kids will be able to hold her but it depends on how’s she’s feeling, we want the best for her and not stress her out!

Ball Python
Kaa
Kaa, the Ball Python is an amazing animal for kids who are scared of snakes. She is a non venomous species, she would never bite anyone and is very gentle. She is very patient, and slow moving. One of the most handled animal during the event.

Corn snake
Onyx
Onyx, the corn snake, is a longer but less girthier snake compared to kaa. He is faster moving but still very friendly and is a good option for kids to hold. A little scarier for kids but still will never bite. Onyx, of course is a non venomous species. Popular amongst kids.

Blue tongue skink
Indigo
Indigo, the blue tongue skink is our newest addition to the family. He is very friendly but has not been brought to any events yet. We may bring him but it’s not a guarantee that kids will be able to hold him. Even though he is new he will not bite anyone and will show signs if he needs a little break, he is not even a full adult!
Insects and arachnids

Madagascar hissing cockroach
These giant cockroaches are actually very friendly. When scared these guys make a loud hissing sound to scare of predators, of course it doesn’t work on people. Kids will be able to hold and touch these guys, and the dare devils can let this big roach crawl on their face! A little fact about these guys is that they are surprisingly very clean for an insect, they clean themselves on the regular. They can not bite, fly, or climb smooth surfaces, but may scratch a little when taking them off someone’s hands. They are very slow moving and extremely good for people who have a fear of creepy crawlies.

Costa Rican zebra tarantula
Arrow, the zebra tarantula is not the friendliest tarantula out there. He will be kept in a container for kids only to look at not touch! He actually is venomous but the venom is compared to a bee. We are currently trying to get a tarantula that’s way safer and nicer.

Yellow darkling beetle
These tiny beetles are very fast but fun to handle, they are very small but mighty. They do not bite, fly, or scratch, but can admit an odor on your hands that does not smell the best but is 100% safe. These are the beetle form of mealworms.

Curly hair tarantula
Fluffy, the curly hair tarantula is pretty docile and not venomous, he still won’t be able to be held but I am working on socializing him and getting him used to humans. He might be more friendly by the end of this year. Fluffy gets his name by the thousands of hairs on his body, being able to flick them off if he gets threatened!

Dubia roach
This medium-sized roach are friendly and can not bite, scratch, fly, or climb smooth surfaces. These roaches aren’t as exciting as there hissing cousin but still are good for kids who are scared of big insects. They are faster then the hissing cockroach so it may spook some people but also may excite some who like faster insects.

Death feigning beetles
These medium sized beetles are very good to hold, they are not too fast and can’t bite, scratch, or fly. If a beetle gets scared they will faint and play dead, not moving for around 30 minutes! We have 3 beetles and their names are Larry, curly, and moe, Larry is the powder blue one and is the most friendliest and active.
